About the company
Saldo Bank is a specialised bank licensed by the European Central Bank and regulated by the Bank of Lithuania. We offer advanced fully automated lending solutions for consumers and SME customers and term deposit account services in Lithuania, Finland, Sweden, and Germany. Our advanced proprietary lending system ensures responsible lending and supports business growth internationally.
We are looking for a DPO with a legal background to own the data protection matters in the bank and also occasionally take on legal matters involving contracts, advice and similar business legal matters.
What will you do
Your role will be focused on the data protection compliance and as our DPO you will:
Own, oversee and enforce all data protection policies, processes and issues within the organisation across all its markets and operations
Develop and maintain the bank's data protection framework (procedures, policies, rules, instructions, registers)
Proactively monitor and ensure that the bank’s services and activities comply with the General Data Protection Regulation
Perform data protection impact assessments
Draft and revise the Data Processing Agreements, Standard Contractual Clauses
Be the contact point for the authorities, data subjects, data processors and other partners in all matters related to data protection
With the support of other teams, handle the data subjects’ requests, data protection breaches and related investigations
Provide the training to the staff on personal data protection issues
Cooperate with process and system owners to ensure the development of compliant and secure systems and processes
We may occasionally ask you to contribute to other legal projects in the bank and help the legal team to:
Draft, review, and negotiate financial and other commercial agreements (such as credit, deposit agreements with the clients, partnership agreements, and third-party services agreements).
Draft, manage, and maintain corporate documents and records (such as incorporation documents, meeting minutes, various registries, and similar).
Contribute to various legal projects by providing advice, collecting and organising information, tracking important deadlines, and being hands-on where necessary.
What we expect
Previous experience of 3 to 5 years as a lawyer, of which at least some experience in regulated financial services or consultancies focused on financial services is required
Experience and knowledge in data protection laws and regulations
A bachelor’s degree in law
Strong argumentation, listening, and communication skills combined with a strong sense of ownership
Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English and Lithuanian
